Asterix

Tetraploid annual ryegrass. Variety created from very resistant plants with medium dimension stem, larger and longer leaves richer in moisture compared to diploids. Can be sown alone or combined with other plants

Technical characteristics

Agronomic characteristics:

fast-growing and germinating annual plant, quick renewal at the end of winter time. Prefers limey and also good moist soils. Adaptable to different climatic zones, but not very dry ones.

Sowing:

sowing starts especially from September to October, at 50 kg/hectare, it is also possible to sow in spring at the same tate.

Production:

excellent forage production to use as green fodder or silage. The product is high in proteins and palatable if used fresh or as hay. Crop yields range from 1 to 2 tons/ha.

Tolerance:

good frost and rust tolerance
